Paul and Dan met over 20 years ago when Paul cast Dan as the lead in his first feature film, ‘The Wake.’ Since then, they have been close friends and creative partners on several projects, including the multi-award-winning short film ‘The Furred Man,’ in which Dan again took the lead while Paul wrote and directed. Paul enjoys tormenting Dan on set, and for that particular film, he made him dress up as a fake werewolf and nearly sweat to death during the filming process.

In their spare time, they have played multiple TTRPG campaigns, from D&D to Star Trek, and both discovered their love for combining compelling narratives and game mechanics. They also share a passion and talent for comedy, blaming Douglas Adams for their collective obsession with towels, intergalactic travel and the number 42. In 2024, a competition run by DriveThruRPG finally brought their passions, friendship and ideas together to form Red Mug Games and create the TTRPG ‘Haunted Heist.’

Their plan is to continue making strange and funny games while always knowing where their towel is.

Dan is an actor and bass player, skilled in game design, writing, improvisation and once received a prestigious award at Cannes… for someone else. Even more unfortunately he was dressed as a well known fast food company mascot.
